2012 Single Cask Nation GlenAllachie 12 Year Old Cask Strength Single Malt Scotch Whisky (700ml)

A veritably unknown distillery to most until Billy Walker purchased it in the late 2010's, GlenAllachie had been producing malt whisky exclusively for use in blends. They loved it, not just for its rich & fruity, even honied character, but because it was so consistent and reliable.

As of late, most official bottlings are out of sherry casks. This edition breaks with that trend having been matured in new charred oak, followed by a two and a half year spell in a refill oloroso hogshead. The result offers bright and exotic polished wood aromas that invite you into the glass with promises of rich dates and sweet cinnamon. The palate is nutty with dark chocolate, drying towards the tip of the tongue leaving a touch of velvety mocha. 240 bottles produced. 59.3% Alc./Vol. Non chill filtered.
