2012 Fabiana Calidus Primitivo di Manduria

Impenetrable inky black core with a very deep dark red black hue. Heady aromas of ripe black cherries, liquorice and black plums are overlaid by a hint of dried raisins with ensuing earthy leather and spicy dried herb end notes. Big, rich and voluminous in the mouth the palate is flooded with flavours of ripe black cherries, liquorice and dried cherries over some black plum, earthy leather infusions and spice. Opulent chewy mouthfeel with firmish but fine grained tannins holding all of the opulent fruit together. Excellent concentration and power with a long conclusion of black cherries, liquorice, dried cherries, black plum, earthy leather, a hint of dried raisins and spice. An excellent example of Primitivo.
Drink over the next 4-5 years.
