2012 Clarendon Hills Onkaparinga Grenache

Opaque dark red black colour with a very dark crimson red hue. Intense black raspberry, black cherry and liquorice aromas waft from the glass over a backdrop of meatiness, subtle earth and spice. Rich and opulent this is the most forward and flamboyant of the 2012 Clarendon Hills Grenache with the tannins taking more of a back seat. Mouthfilling flavours of black raspberry and liquorice swamp the palate followed by some meatiness and spicy pepper. Solid, slightly chewy tannins are largely concealed by the wealth of fruit. Superb length and power with a long aftertaste of black raspberry, liquorice, dried meats, subtle earth and spicy pepper.
