A double sherried Longmorn - first oloroso matured, then finished in a fresh PX hogshead. Sublime on the nose, the wine mingles naturally with Longmorn’s honeyed, toasted cereal tones, however the palate takes a more bittersweet turn, run through with peppered poached pears, fruit-filled bitter dark chocolates and late orange spice cake, tongue tingling heat rising into the aftertaste. Atypical Longmorn, very textural with quite the attack. 297 bottles at 58.2% Alc./Vol. Non chill filtered.

Notes from the bottlers... The sister cask of the very popular Longmorn we bottled last year, this sophisticated Speyside whisky lends itself well to active cask maturation and that’s exactly what we have here. Matured for most of its life in a 2nd fill oloroso butt we then transferred it to a fresh ex-PX hogshead for 17 months adding sweetness and enhance the sherry character already present. Tasting revealed - Fruit Cake, cinnamon and walnut.
