2011 Cousino-Macul Finis Terrae Cabernet Sauvignon Merlot

A blend of 83% Cabernet and 17% Merlot made from the finest parcels of fruit on the Estate. It sees 18 months maturation in French oak.

Totally opaque black dark red colour with a deep dark red black tinged hue. Perfumed aromas of ripe blackcurrants and dark mulberry laced with hints of violets are followed by nuances of cigar box, faint earthy tobacco and spice. Full bodied the palate possesses magnificent fruit richness in combination with finesse and refinement. Generous flavours of ripe blackcurrant, dark cherries and mulberries flood the mouth over a back drop of cedar, light earthy tobacco and spice. Very fine grained, almost velvet like, yet structurally firm tannins provide the perfect framework. Excellent length and persistence with a long conclusion of ripe blackcurrant, mulberry, cedary tobacco, subtle earth and spice.
