2011 Allegrini Palazzo Della Torre

Opaque black dark red colour with a deep dark red hue. The nose displays lifted ripe black cherry and black plum flavours followed by some liquorice, scorched earth and a hint of incense as an end note. Rich ripe black cherry and black plum flavours are to the fore with underlying liquorice, rustic earthiness and spice. Opulent yet slightly chewy mouthfeel with a solidly built tannin structure. Medium to long aftertaste of black cherries, liquorice, scorched earth and spice. A rich ripe Italian red with a rustic twist.
Drink over the next 3-4 years.
