2010 Vasse Felix Cabernet Merlot

A blend of 55% Cabernet Sauvignon, 37% Merlot and 8% Malbec. Maturation took place in French oak for a period of 12 months with 7% being new oak and the balance being made up of 1 to 5 year old barrels.

Opaque deep black crimson red colour with dark crimson red hue. The nose displays top notes of mulberry, cedar and bay leaf followed by some tobacco and spice. Medium to full bodied the palate possesses generous but at the same time elegant flavours of blackcurrant and dark mulberries followed by some tobacco cedar like characters and a spicy back palate. Slightly dryish but fine grained and perfectly balanced tannin structure.Medium to long aftertaste of ripe mulberry, tobacco, cedar and spice.
Cellar 3-4 years (2015-2016).
