Other Reviews....
A moreish delight from Stefano Lubiana’s soon to be biodynamic vineyard in the Derwent Valley, the latest Grand Vintage has spent 9 years on its lees with some extra time under cork as well. This has resulted in a glorious peachy brioche, baked apple, toasty and nutty sparkling wine.
At only 4 g/l dosage, all those warm and plumptious flavours are kept tight with taut acidity and allow the fuller flavour to emerge without becoming cloying or flabby. An indulgent wine for indulgent moments, gather your people when you can and open this, just because you can. Drink 2021 - 2025.

Curly Haslam-Coates - The Wine Front (June 2021)

70/30% chardonnay/pinot noir from an estate vineyard in the Derwent Valley, in conversion to biodynamic. Lubiana's vintage is a showpiece for the style of Southern Tasmanian sparkling, with greater intensity of flavour and structure than the north, yet with all the tension, energy and integrity to live long. 2010 follows the outstanding '08 and '09. Chardonnay's yellow fruits define a core of racy grapefruit, succulent white peach and crunchy Beurre Bosc pear, set to the spice of pinot. Nine years on lees has blessed it with a creamy silkiness and subtle roasted nut and butter complexity. Fine phenolic grip is well enveloped into its creamy folds, perfectly judged dosage and lingering, focused, cool acid line. Drink by 2025.
