Aged in American oak for a minimum of 12 months. Opaque black crimson red colour with deep dark crimson red hue. Lifted liquorice and dark chocolate aromas arise from the glass with a vanillin mocha like overlay finishing with hints of dried spices. Medium to full bodied flavours of liquorice and ripe morello cherries over a background of toasty vanillin oak, dark chocolate and spice. Crisp acidity is a touch high making the finish a little tart. Velvet smooth tannins. Aftertaste of liquorice, morello cherries and vanillin spice.
