2010 First Drop Pintor Tempranillo

Pintor is First Drop’s wines ode to the great wines of Rioja. Matured in a combination of 50% new French oak, 20% new American oak and 30% old French oak for 20 months.

Opaque dark red purple colour with dark red purple hue. The nose exhibits lifted scents of ripe dark cherries intermixed with liquorice and dark chocolate followed by overtones of vanillin oak with a trace of earth as an end note. Rich dark chocolate, dark cherries, liquorice, vanillin oak and spice flavours abound on the palate. Solid fine grained tannins provide a good framework. Dryish finish with long dark chocolate, dark cherry, vanillin oak and spice aftertaste.
