2010 Boll & Cie Grand Cru Extra Brut Champagne

A Blanc de Blancs Champagne sourced from Grand Cru vineyards located in Oger and Le Mesnil-Sur-Oger. Spends a minimum 5 years on lees. A generous lacy white mousse sits over a pale straw to straw coloured base wine that has pale gold edges. Exceptionally fine bead showing great persistence. Pronounced yet refined aromas of baked bread and yeast lees tied to citrus and brioche hold sway over oily toast like characters and hints of honeyed cashew. Richly flavoured with an oily like textural feel yet simultaneously refreshing and vibrant, the palate is filled with oily baked bread and yeast lees characters underscored by subtlety honeyed toast, citrus and roasted almonds. Dry crisp finish. Superb length with a long oily baked bread, yeast lees, honeyed toast and roasted almond aftertaste.
