Sourced from estate vines planted in 1972 and 1974 this wine was matured in 2-3 year old seasoned American oak for 18 months. Opaque black crimson colour with deep dark crimson red hue. Top notes of liquorice and ripe blackberry leap out of the glass and are followed by some confectionary and spice scents. Full bodied the palate displays joosy but youthful flavours of blackberry, black raspberry, confectionary and spice. Dryish finish with fine grained tannins and aftertaste, of black raspberry, confectionary and spice.
