Matured in French oak this Shiraz displays an opaque black dark red colour with deep dark crimson red hue. The nose displays aromas of black raspberry, plum, liquorice and confectionary. The palate is very elegant for a Barossa Shiraz, almost lean, quite dry and lacks depth and persistence. Flavours of blackberry, spice and blackpepper with a dry finish. Dry, slightly chalky tannins. Short aftertaste of blackpepper and spice. The wine is missing Barossa’s trademark generosity.
