Outrageous value with plenty of pleasure to be had right here & now !

Martine Cazeneuve, the visionary woman who has been in control of Chateau Paloumey's destiny for the last 23 years, continues to impress with her wines. Crossing the Gironde from Blaye where she looked after a 7Ha family vineyard, her dream of establishing a Medoc estate has exceeded expectations. Since 1989 she has literally rebuilt Paloumey from the ground up: vineyards, cellar and amenities. Her sheer determination and drive resulted in Chateau Paloumey's elevation to Cru Bourgeois status in 2003. Cazeneuve has harnessed the power of the 2009 vintage with panache in this outrageous value cuvee composed of 51% Cabernet Sauvignon and 49% Merlot.

An unbelievable value and one of the more forward drinking wines in the collection.

Totally opaque black crimson colour with deep dark crimson red black hue. The nose shows excellent perfumed lift with aromas of blackcurrant intermixed with ripe dark mulberry followed by some tobacco cigar box like characters, cedar and spice. Medium to full bodied the palate delivers excellent levels of richness with an abundance of blackcurrant, ripe dark mulberry and black cherry fruit followed by some cedary cigar box and spice. Fine grained tannin structure. Solid but perfectly interwoven and integrated. Long blackcurrant, dark mulberry, cedary tobacco and spice aftertaste.
Cellar 5-6 years (2018-2019).
Alc 14.0%

Other Reviews….
"Gorgeous black currant on the nose, with tar and lead pencil. Pauillac-like. Full-bodied, with well-integrated tannins and a long finish. Serious."
