2008 Paringa Estate Shiraz

Aged in a combination of new and 1 year old French oak for a period of 18 months. Totally opaque black dark crimson red colour with deep dark crimson black hue. The nose shows good aromatic lift with scents of blackberry and aniseed followed by some cedar, vanillin confectionary and light blackpepper end notes. The palate possesses impressive concentration and depth with mouthfilling flavours of blackberry and liquorice overlaying some vanillin confectionary, a touch of meatiness and blackpepper. Quite savoury with slightly dryish but very fine grained well integrated tannin structure. Long blackberry, liquorice, subtle leather, vanillin confectionary and blackpepper aftertaste.
