The “Stonehorse” wines are vinified to make styles that emphasise fruit characteristics with barrel maturation of secondary consideration. Like many Southern Rhone examples, the oak is designed to support and add structure to the palate without compromising the vivid natural fruit. To this end maturation saw 12 months in predominantly stainless steel and older oak before been bottled without fining or filtration.

An exuberant Rhone inspired blend.

This delicious cuvee is composed of 62% Shiraz, 28% Grenache and 10% Mourvedre. It offers an opaque black dark red colour with deep dark red hue with good aromatic lift - ripe blackberry, dark raspberry and a touch of liquorice with some spice end notes. The palate is jam packed with ripe fruit flavours including ripe blackberry, black raspberry and liquorice followed by a spicy back palate. Plush mouthfeel. Outstanding concentration with soft velvety tannins. Long aftertaste of ripe blackberry, black raspberry, liquorice and spice.
Enjoy over the next 2-3 years (2012-2015).
