2008 Kaesler Alte Reben Shiraz

The fruit for this Shiraz was sourced from a single vineyard planted in 1899 with the resultant wine being matured in French oak for 15 months. Totally opaque black crimson colour with very deep black crimson hue. The nose displays a very perfumed aromatic profile of liquorice, blackberry, confectionary and violets with some spice end notes. Rich, big and concentrated the palate delivers opulent flavours of ripe blackberry, liquorice and dark plum followed by some mocha, vanilla and spice. Velvet smooth tannins beautifully integrated with the layers of fruit. Magnificent depth with very long aftertaste of liquorice, blackberry, mocha, confectionary and spice.
Cellar 5-8 years (2016-2019).
