2008 Douglas Laing & Co. Old Particular Single Cask Speyburn 15 Year Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky (700ml)

Speyburn's distillers take a wide spirit cut, aiming for a fruity character that still retains some body. 'Apples' are one note that's often repeated by tasters. For this middle-aged independent expression, 357 bottles were charged from a refill hogshead. 48.4% Alc./Vol. Non chill filtered.

Notes from the bottlers... Nose: Opens crisp, clean and attractively spiced, with a sweet cereal based, gristy content. Palate: Carries a barley sugar based and honey'd style, warming gently amongst intriguing spices. Finish: Still as absolutely sweet, now with a nutty content - those earlier spices still apparent.
