2008 Diplomatico Single Vintage Rum (700ml)

At the time of writing, these Diplomatico Single Vintages are up to 2013 (in the US), so this bottling is going back in time. Created from reserve stocks carefully assembled into vintage batches from a single year of distillation, after spending twelve years ageing in ex-bourbon, ex-single malt whisky, and new American oak casks, the spirit was then further matured for an additional year in first-fill Oloroso sherry casks. In our experience, these releases have less sugar dosage compared to something like Diplomatico's Reserva Exclusiva. It allows more natural flavours to shine through, beyond basic molasses and vanilla. The complexity extends to notes of smoked wood, Christmas cake, coffee and chocolate, followed by hints of baked fruits. Last but not least, the beautiful heavy-weight decanter will bring a sense of occasion to every pour.
