2008 Asta Morris Glenburgie Foursquare Rum Finish 10 Year Old Cask Strength Single Malt Scotch Whisky (700ml)

Bottled by Belgian Independent, Asta Morris, this unusual Glenburgie was matured in an ex-bourbon cask and finished in a Foursquare rum cask.

Bottled at a natural strength of 52% Non chill filtered. 259 bottles.

Other reviews... Nose: the whisky may be a little light and ‘generic’ here, but the rum is able to lift it without overdoing it. Cake, floral honey, light hints of latte. There’s a milky, creamy side to it. Vanilla and citrus sweets. Banana pie. That sweet, fruity side hints towards rum indeed. Mouth: nice apple pastry, vanilla cake. Hints of peaches. Then peppery notes, moving towards grassy notes and zesty grapefruit. Finish: medium, back to honeyed notes, alongside apple peeling and eau-de-vie. This is a nice whisky, even though I’m not the biggest fan of its simple, neutral and youngish style. The rum certainly made it sweeter and added candied notes. - whiskynotes.be
