2007 Charles Sturt University Chardonnay
Orange, New South Wales, AUSTRALIA
Bright pale straw colour with delicate green tinge and water like hue. Top note of peach followed by light tropical fruit, melon and just a hint of yeast lees. The palate has good weight with creamy texture. Flavours of citrus and melon. Moderate length – almost Chablis-like. Aftertaste of citrus and melon.
Cellar 2-3 years (2010-2011)
Alc/Vol: 13.5%
Other Reviews...
Given the extraordinary value the Charles Sturt Chardonnay usually offers it is no surprise it is a regular in the Top 100, but this has to be the best yet. It has lovely cool climate nectarine, grapefruit and melon flavours supported by a touch of French oak; terrific length.
