2006 Primo Estate La Biondina Colombard Sauvignon Blanc
Primo Grilli migrated from Italy in 1953 and planted his vineyard 30 km north of Adelaide in the rich market gardening soils of Virginia. In 1979, his son Joseph graduated from Roseworthy and began to implement the new technology of winemaking and viticultural management that he'd learnt. The big success was his experiments with the unfashionable Colombard grape, which he calls La Biondina – a fresh early drinking, aromatic white.
Bright pale straw colour with water like hue. Delicate tropical fruit, spice and passionfruit top note. On the palate light flavours of tropical fruit and citrus followed by a hint of lemon and passionfruit. The acidity is holding up for the short term. Aftertaste of tropical fruit, confectionary and citrus.
