Delivers on expectations; a robust Glenrothes, with a wonderfully chunky, aged fruit cake mouthfeel and flavour; Christmas spices, hints of sulphur and suggestions of Amaretto and peel heavy marmalade towards the warm, chocolatey finish. The balance and character are notable. A large scale distillery experience stretching above and beyond official expressions. If rarity is a factor, just 68 bottles were filled from a first-fill oloroso butt! 55.9% Alc./Vol. Non chill filtered.

Notes from the bottlers... Here we have a classic ’sherry bomb’! cinnamon, plump raisins and muscovado sugar. Although flavour profile is dominated by the sherry butt, the distillery character still remains through its orange and marmalade notes, complimented by some spice and herbal characteristics offered by the cask.
