2006 Glaymond Landrace Shiraz Mataro - Museum Release
Barossa Valley, South Australia, AUSTRALIA
Please note: this back vintage wine has been professionally cellared in ideal conditions at Nicks for many years. However, due to the age and natural bottle variation of older wines, we cannot guarantee that every bottle will be perfect and we are unable to offer refunds or replacements for bottles that may show faults or variation. Although we doubt there will be faults - please purchase with this in mind. Due to the age of this wine, some bottles may show signs of advanced maturity and we recommend enjoying it sooner rather than further cellaring.
The 2006 Glaymond Landrace Shiraz Mataro showcases the bold, distinctive style of winemaker Damien Tscharke, whose family vineyards were planted in 1961 by his grandfather, Gerhard Tscharke, on the Western Barossa Ridge in Seppeltsfield. Surrounded by renowned producers including Torbreck, Greenock Creek and Kalleske, the estate quickly gained recognition for its exceptional old-vine fruit. A blend of 60% Shiraz and 40% Mataro (Mourvèdre), the Landrace combines traditional open-top fermentation and basket pressing with 23 months of maturation in new French and seasoned American oak, adding depth and a distinctive hint of vanilla.
