2006 Arboleda Carmenere - Museum Release
Colchagua Valley, CHILE
Please note: this back vintage wine has been professionally cellared in ideal conditions at Nicks for many years, and we have tasted and approved the quality of the stock offered. However, due to the age and natural bottle variation of older wines, we cannot guarantee that every bottle will be perfect and we are unable to offer refunds or replacements for bottles that may show faults or variation. Although we doubt there will be faults - please purchase with this in mind. We also recommend allowing this wine to breathe before consumption, as some initial earthy and green characters may soften with aeration.
Viña Arboleda was founded in 1999 by Chilean winemaker Eduardo Chadwick, with its vineyards located in the Aconcagua Valley, north of Santiago. The estate’s name, meaning “grove of trees”, reflects the extensive native forest surrounding its sustainably managed vineyards. The 2006 Arboleda Carmenère is made from one of Chile’s signature varieties. Originally associated with Bordeaux, Carmenère disappeared from European vineyards during the 19th century and was later identified in Chile, where it has become an important part of the country’s wine identity. The wine was matured for twelve months in 45% new oak casks of which 75% was American and 25% French.
