2005 Leconfield Coonawarra Cabernet Sauvignon

The Leconfield vineyard was established in 1974 by Sydney Hamilton. Historically, great Cabernet has been grown here, however, in recent years the quality has been variable. The 2005 release sees a return to form and shows a generosity of flavour reflective of early, warmer vintages.

Opaque black crimson colour with black crimson hue. Top note of dark chocolate, spice and blackcurrant, showing impressive varietal character. Blackcurrant, cedar, truffle and spice palate flavours are supported by fine dry persistent tannins which remain balanced to the fruit. There is a hint of white pepper emerging. Aftertaste of cedar, blackcurrant and spice.
