2005 Ada River Heathcote Reserve Shiraz

Aged in new American oak the colour of this aged Heathcote Shiraz is holding up well displaying a totally opaque black dark red core with a dark red hue. Lifted ripe blackberry and liquorice aromas merge with toasty vanillin oak, earth and spice notes. Full bodied and stacked with rich blackberry and liquorice aniseed like flavours the palate is still very much alive and well. Ensuing are elements of toasted vanillin oak, some earth and spicy pepper. Excellent concentration with an opulent mouthfeel and sturdy yet velvet like tannins. Showing little sign of its age it finishes long with ripe blackberry, liquorice, aniseed, toasty vanillin oak and spicy earth. A beautifully aged Heathcote Shiraz that’s primed for drinking.
