Fruit for the Show Sparkling Shiraz is sourced from Seppelt’s  best blocks - St Peter’s, Imperial and McKenzie which are in close proximity to the Seppelt winery. The base wine goes through fermentation in seasoned large format French oak barrels for 12 months. It then undergoes  secondary fermentation and ageing in the bottle on lees for eight years before disgorging.

An excellent dark red tinged creamy mousse is followed by a deep dark red base wine with a very fine and profuse bead. A superb sniff, the nose delivers both aromatic complexity and intensity with scents of ripe blackberries, dark chocolate and dark plums followed by subtle liquorice, vanillin oak and a hint of leather as an end note. Boasting magnificent richness and concentration along with creamy textural qualities and exceptional depth the palate is still looking remarkably fresh and vibrant. Mouthfilling flavours of blackberries, dark plum and dark chocolate flood the palate followed by some vanillin oak and very subtle emerging leather characters on the back palate. Very long persistent aftertaste of ripe blackberries, dark chocolate, vanillin oak and subtle leather.
Drink now or cellar 6-8 years.
Alc 13%

Other Reviews....
Legend has it that when Seppelt was much larger, a battle would rage between the table and sparkling winemaking teams for the best shiraz. This wine has great colour, and is stacked with blackberry, spice and chocolate flavours - precisely those that the '61 showed. Drink to 2054
