The last time we had a Laphroaig from Adelphi, it was nothing short of sensational. Reportedly they go to considerable lengths to source Laphroaigs that really stand out from the pack. This one's part of a 321 bottle yield from cask 700170 at 56.6% Alc./Vol. Non chill filtered.

Notes from Adelphi... Summer gold in colour, this shows a moderate bead. Smoked kippers, burning boiler suits (thanks Alison!), Amaretti biscuits, lint bandages soaked in TCP and sea urchin. Burnt treacle cupcakes, Stollen cake, malt kilns, smoked oysters, sun-kissed kelp and smoked Mull cheddar in a long finish.
