The Village Vineyard was close planted in 1996, with a vine density of 9000 vines per hectare. Yields are kept low to 25 litres per hectare or 1.5 tonnes per acre.Very deep crimson colour with mauve hue. Aroma of strawberry and toasted oak, followed by a hint of coffee and spice. The palate delivers mouthfilling flavours of spice and toasted oak followed by strawberry and cherry. Excellent depth and concentration, with very spicy back palate. Fine grained, velvet tannins. Long aftertaste of spice, plum, strawberry and cherry.
