This is a very impressive second ‘leaf’ Shiraz. Matured in French oak. Totally opaque, black purple colour with strong cling to the glass. Perfect nose, with aroma of ripe blackberry, liquorice, spice, cedar and violets. The palate is ‘joosy,’ a classic McLaren Vale, with velvet tannin structure. Flavours of liquorice, dark chocolate and ripe blackberries. The complexity is not there, but there is more than enough primary fruit flavour. Aftertaste of liquorice, spice and blackberry.
