2002 By Farr Chardonnay

GARY FARR has consistently produced complex Chardonnays under the Bannockburn label and in recent years has launched his own wine. Unlike many commercial styles, Gary’s Chardonnays have a depth of flavour that would change many an ABC (Anything But Chardonnay) drinkers perceptions. Bright pale gold colour with straw hue showing some oxidative handling of juice. The nose is lifted and the complexity of the underlying structure is immediately apparent. Layers of hazelnut, toasted oak, biscuit and yeast lees. Superb creamy palate texture with flavours of honey, honeycombe, biscuit, hazelnut and cashew emerging. Clean acid finish followed by very long aftertaste of spice, citrus, honey and hazelnut.
