2001 Journeys End Vineyards Made In The Vineyard Verdelho

There has been considerable renewed interest in this Portuguese varietal, particularly from wine lovers seeking an alternative to Chardonnay – it would appear that the ABC set (anything but Chardonnay) is seeking a new flavour experience – Verdelho certainly offers that!Brilliant straw colour, with a delicate spritzic. The nose is fresh, lifted, and very aromatic. Intense floral notes are enhanced by layers of spice, tropical fruit, musk and confectionary. A delightful sniff. The palate is generous, mouthfilling with loads of spice, tropical fruit and confectionary flavours which are enhanced by crisp acidity. Perfect balance, with long aftertaste of musk, confectionary, tropical fruit and spice. A great sipping wine.
