Bright mid gold colour. The nose is quite exotic, Viognier like, with aroma of tropical fruit on the turn, paw paw, mango and lanolin. The palate is broad and verging on becoming oxidised, but none the less very interesting in the flavour profile. The palate has lost its freshness, and displays flavours of confectionary, mango and paw paw. Soft acid finish, with mango and paw paw aftertaste.Drink (2002)Alc/Vol: 13.9%RATING: 84/100VALUE: XXX/5size>

The Fyffe Field wines are made by David Traeger. This is a left field Verdelho! Deep straw colour, showing some early oxidised character. The nose displays aroma that is not too dissimilar to Viognier with its ‘tropical fruit on the turn character’, followed by a hint of spice. The palate flavours are broad, quite full bodied and lack the freshness that is associated with Verdelho. Soft acid finish, followed by spice and tropical fruit aftertaste.
