1999 Lake Breeze Bernoota Shiraz Cabernet

Made from a 50/50 blend of Shiraz and Cabernet. Very deep black crimson colour, with deep mauve hue. Aroma of spice, vanilla, plum and cedar, followed by end notes of truffle and blackcurrant. Moderate length, with flavours of blackcurrant and chocolate. Fine grained tannins, followed by a blackcurrant spice aftertaste. Cellar 2-3 years. (2003-2004)

An outstanding Bernoota, made from a 50/50 blend of Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon. Very deep crimson colour with crimson mauve hue. On the nose, aroma of liquorice, vanilla, violets over a ripe plum end note. The palate is impressive, with distinct flavours of blackpepper, blackberry and blackcurrant. Excellent length, with the blackpepper remaining in the background. Fine grained tannins – perfect balance, followed by very long blackpepper and blackcurrant aftertaste.
