The 1998 Browns of Padthaway Ernest Shiraz was outstanding, the 1999 does not provide the same sense of excitement. Very deep crimson black colour with black heart. Aroma of dark chocolate, mocca, spice, old leather and earth. The palate displays very ripe plum flavours over a layer of spice, blackpepper, dark chocolate and mint. Firmish, fine grained tannins, followed by an aftertaste of earth and leather.
