1998 Fox Creek Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon

A superb wine and only available on a very strict allocation to a lucky few. The wine was matured in French oak for 15 months. Opaque black, crimson colour. Magnificent nose with aroma of vanilla, spice, liquorice and blackcurrants. Totally mouthfilling palate with abundant flavour of dark chocolate, vanilla and blackcurrant. Outstanding depth and persistence of flavour- fine, firmish dry tannins, but perfectly balanced with very long aftertaste of vanilla, blackcurrant, spice and cinnamon.

The 1998 Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve is brilliant. Opaque black/purple-colored with an explosive nose of licorice, blackberry, cassis, tar, and new oak, this huge, ripe wine (it was aged in 100% new French oak) is layered, thick, smoky, concentrated, and a true blockbuster from this superb vintage. One thousand five-hundred cases were produced. Anticipated maturity: 2003-2018.
