1998 Clarendon Hills Hickinbotham Pinot Noir

Medium body, brick red colour, and a touch cloudy, possibly due to the fact that the wine has not been filtered. Distinct Pinot nose, quite Burgundian with aromas of game and strawberry and just slightly stalky. There is considerable power on the nose and this flows through onto the palate and aftertaste. Generous flavour of strawberry spice and game. Fine grained tannins, excellent balance with acidity just a touch on the high side for the time being but well supported by generous fruit flavours. Very long strawberry, game, spice aftertaste. Cellar 4-5 years.
