1998 Berrys Bridge Cabernet Sauvignon

Wonderful opaque crimson colour. The nose displays the very ripe fruit aromas, leading off with a touch of sweet 'port', stewed fruit, spice and liquorice allsorts followed by a hint of mint. The palate is very generous with great concentration of flavour. Very ripe plums, liquorice allsorts, blackpepper all available in great abundance. Totally mouthfilling with fine dry, fine grained tannins and warm alcohol finish which tends to hang around, after the aftertaste of liquorice, ripe plum and stewed fruits disappears. The 15.5% Alc/Vol is perhaps just a little too ripe for the Cabernet grapes, yet much better balanced with the 1998 Berrys Bridge Shiraz. Cellar 5-8 years.
