This is the top wine produced by Brother John May at Sevenhill. A blend of equal parts Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Malbec. A wine of great style. Deep crimson mauve colour. Delightful perfumed nose, displaying lots of complexity. Violets, truffles, blackcurrants, mulberries, vanilla, ripe plums and spice. The palate displays real elegance - a touch lighter than the nose suggests but that is not to say it lacks depth. On the palate a hint of liquorice emerges followed by plum, truffle and blackcurrant flavours - excellent length. Slightly peppery on the back palate with fine, long and dry tannins. Perfect balance with 5-8 years cellaring potential.
