1996 Moet & Chandon Brut Imperial Vintage Champagne

It was a somewhat mixed year with an unsettled summer. The wet periods were not enough to offset an early water deficiency. The very hot weather in the month prior to the harvest (picking started between 16th September 1st October) gives the vintage its outstanding maturity, reflected in uniquely balanced strength and acidity.

Tasting Note: Made from 45% Chardonnay, 50% Pinot Noir, 5% Pinot Meunier On the nose, very ripe pears, candied citrus fruits, floral, fresh almonds, toasted hints. The body of the wine is well balanced throughout. Succulent fruit flavours expand into a firmer, crisp flavour with a subtle yet invigorating and distinguished freshness.
