1996 Leasingham Classic Clare Sparkling Shiraz

Deep crimson mauve brick red colour with crimson hue. Good persistent bead. The nose displays ripe notes of blackberry intermixed with some leather, earth and liquorice notes. The palate is an explosion of flavour and displays a length and persistence rarely seen in sparkling shiraz. Mouthfilling, rich with a creamy texture – flavours of liquorice, aniseed, blackberry and vanilla with some earth and leather overtones in the background as result of bottle age. Still amazingly fresh and rich given 10 years bottle age. An outstanding Sparkling Shiraz.
