1995 Claxton's Warehouse No.1 Glen Moray 27 Year Old Cask Strength Single Malt Scotch Whisky (700ml)

While the Glen Moray brand is more and more prevalent, that's largely due to the fact that it's a supermarket import in Australia. What's on offer is generally low ABV, cheap and quaffable. Bringing something more compelling to the table are independents, and in this example, the whisky arrives with a ripping price tag for a near 30 year old cask strength bottling. Adding to the allure is that it's Bordeaux red wine cask matured. We have been allocated a tiny fraction of the original 190 bottles. 51.2% Alc./Vol. Non-chill filtered.

Notes from the bottlers... NOSE: Strawberry essence. Herbal. Hint of pine and vanilla. PALATE: Toffee and oak at first. Some maltiness and biscuit. FINISH: Bittersweet oak, herbal and vanilla in the aftertaste.
