1994 Glendronach Single Cask No.1769 Oloroso Sherry Puncheon Cask Strength 28 Year Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky (700ml)

After a run of PX single casks, Glendronach returns to its roots with a 28 year old oloroso matured malt. Like some venerable Armagnac, it starts with a bouquet that marries fabulous depth with freshness, including figs, aged fruit cake, brandy cream sauce, gingerbread, cinnamon and rancio. The palate doesn't disappoint offering all the classic Glendronach notes in a caramel setting, host to a range of dark fruits, chocolate and orange peel; the sweetness of the raisin and apricot tuned to the malt. Arguably bottled at the perfect time with some minor astringency creeping in, Glendronach are leading the way with single casks at prices that blow competitors like Macallan out of the water. Distilled in 1994 and bottled in 2023, 692 bottles are on offer globally. 55.5% Alc./Vol. Non chill filtered.
