1994 Coriole Mary Kathleen Reserve Merlot Cabernet

Named after one of the founders of Coriole, Mary Kathleen, this wine is a blend of 46% Merlot, 40% Cabernet and 14% Cabernet Franc. Opaque brick red colour. Aromas of ripe plums over a leather and earthy background, with hints of mulberry and vanilla. The palate structure is quite solid, and not as forward as might be expected, however, it's a wine that will develop well over the next decade. The Merlot continues to make its presence felt with its earthy character, whilst the Cabernet component provides a dusty background, finishing with liquorice and confectionary flavours. Fine tannin structure, excellent balance and long plum / spice aftertaste.
