For a short while, there was a malt whisky distillery in the same complex as Invergordon (est. 1960), but these days the plant produces top quality single grain. Now a part of Whyte & Mackay, this version from Douglas Laing comes with a considerable age statement at a tempting price. The outturn from a single refill barrel was just 72 bottles! 49.2% Alc./Vol. Non-chill filtered.

Notes from the bottlers... Anticipate melting sugar, cream and butter, then barley sugar, mixed cereals, vanilla toffee and milky coffee plus soft gentle spices and fruit fudge.
