Given Tormore has mostly been a workhorse for blends, official bottlings didn't exist until 2004. Subsequent releases under Pernod Ricard never gained wide recognition, and the void has only been filled by independent offerings. In June 2022, Elixir Distillers (the company behind a slew of UK brands such as Port Askaig and Elements of Islay) took over Tormore distillery from the corporate giant. New bottlings have followed; however, this much-overlooked distillery will still be a novelty for most. Douglas Laing filled 276 bottles from single refill hogshead DL17247 at 41.6% Alc./Vol. Non-chill filtered.

Notes from the bottlers... The nose is attractively round and full of buttered burnt toast and milky cereal hues. On the palate detect butterscotch, malt, appealing spices and gentle lemon citric tones. That big malt impact is still therre on the finish, plus bourbon based vanilla flavours.
