Purchased direct-from-the-bottler, sourced from a distillery whose spirit has traditionally played an important role in some of Scotland’s best-known blends, now taken out of the blending room and given the opportunity to stand entirely on its own. North British is never bad above the 25 year mark, and extended maturation can transport the profile into layers of vanilla, caramel and honeyed sweetness, alongside coconut, soft fruit, gentle spice and polished oak. Undeniably a single grain bargain, with enough character to be bottled in its own right rather than disappearing into a blend. Refill Oloroso Sherry butt 262085 yielded 336 bottles. 50.4% Alc./Vol. Non chill filtered.
