1970 Castarede Bas Armagnac (700ml)
$380. 00 Bottle
Tasting note: Bottled in 2019. Varnishy, then soft and sultry on the nose, though slightly muted; sawn oak, balsa wood, fruit slice and shades of cigar box, sweetening to prunes, fig paste and muscat after 3-4 minutes exposure. A well-rounded, medium bodied brandy with good fruit-oak balance and flavours of spiced raisin cake, cocoa with a peppery flourish. Vanilla rounds out the finish. Medium long. Woody but not overly so. Very accessible. 40% Alc./Vol. Notes from Castarede… Very good nose, nicely balanced with a light shade of vanilla.
