1969 Glenrothes Extra Ordinary Cask Single Malt Scotch Whisky (700ml)

This is the second annual release produced by Berry Bros. & Rudd - London's oldest wine and spirit merchant for Glenrothes under its 'Extra Ordinary Cask' collection. This years single cask was sourced from an American oak hogshead (cask #11485) filled on the 10th July 1969, bottled in September 2012.  After 43 years of maturation, it yielded 133 bottles at a natural strength of 42.9% alcohol by volume.

Designed by UK agency, Brandhouse, the iconic Glenrothes shaped bottle has been enhanced in exuberant fashion, featuring a brass, engraved plate on the front noting the year of distillation and bottle number. The bottles are also presented in a hand-crafted leather case complete with oak plinth and book co-written by seven whisky writers.

Only two bottles were rumoured to have been imported into Australia.
